Blackbird Cultur-Lab is delighted to be part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2022 this Saturday June 11th.

We will offer two different workshops for children and their parents:

"1. Grow your Own Veggie Friends in a Box"

Time: 11:00a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Suitable age: 6-10 years

Children and their parents will learn along with Blackbird’s founder, Karla Sánchez, how to plant and look after their own vegetables and flowers. The young gardeners will decorate their veggie boxes and take their new seedlings home to watch them grow.

Kids and parents will be handling paint, sol, seeds, and seedlings. Please make sure to dress appropriately (old clothes are great!)

"2. The Magic of Trees and Charcoal"

Time: 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Suitable age: 6 – 12 years

Children and their parents will join artist David Begley to learn how charcoal is made, after going on a short walk to look at trees (weather dependent), and make their own charcoal drawings of trees.

Kids and parents will be walking on rocky, and maybe muddy, roads and will be handling charcoal. Please make sure to dress appropriately.
